When it comes to Afrobeats, there’s hardly any African artist that comes close to Burna Boy in terms of talent.

Burna is that guy we can call the best thing to ever happen to African music since Fela Kuti. The “Onyeka” singer has risen against all odds to become one of the greatest artists of his generation.

That unique sauce that Burna Boy brings to any song is the reason why for the past three years, he’s been one of the most sought-after artists on the continent. What does that mean?

It means everyone from the nook and crannies of Africa wants Odogwu on their song, just because nobody does it better than him. Since he murdered Kabza De Small‘s “Sponono” alongside Wizkid, signaling the advent of Amapiano, he’s been on a roll, especially in other parts of Africa that’s not Nigeria.

No doubt, one of the biggest songs he’s jumped on is Master KG‘s smash hit, “Jerusalema.” His influence, coupled with the stellar performance he had, impacted that song and made it one of the hottest in the world!

Of recent, he hasn’t done anything that comes close to “Jerusalema,” except this new one called “Yaba Buluku” that’s beginning to gain mad traction.

Jerusalema v Yaba Buluku

There’s not much to be said about these two jams, except the fact that they’re both bangers.

Jerusalema” has a South-African House vibe, and is a little bit uptempo than the average amapiano song. The song which has a hook, taken by Nomcembo Zikode, has a contagious vibe and it can most certainly turn up any dance floor.

Yaba Buluku” on the other hand is pure amapiano from the Mozambican DJ, Tarico. We’re talking about percussions on percussions and noise of mass hysteria. It’s a crazy tune.

What these two songs have in common is that Burna Boy made them better and it shows. The remixes are the most played versions and it’s all the work of the “Twice As Tall” singer.

Personally, I think “Yaba Buluku” had more Burna effort and is definitely a better jam than “Jerusalema,” which came back in 2020. But let’s hear what you think.
